Data Sheet – Diversion Methods

The idea behind this method is to create a structure or modify an existing structure to make it more attractive to the beetles than your house. The MALB is looking for a structure that is relatively warm and dry and has lots of little nooks and crannies into which it can crawl to spend the winter. They are attracted to light colors and orient towards the tallest structure in their line of site. This method is very open-ended so use your own creativity to come up with an idea.

Data Sheet – Interior Pesticide Use

The use of pesticide sprays, foggers or bombs inside your home are NOT recommended. These forms of pesticide do not work well on the MALB but will subject the members of your household to unnecessary pesticide exposure. The pesticides listed below can be applied in a manner to specifically target the chemical on the MALB (especially in hard to reach areas) while limiting the exposure to others in your home.
