In February, 2013 Jim Jasinski became the Extension IPM Program coordinator at Ohio State University, preceded by Joe Kovach, Hal Wilson, and Bill Blair. Jim began his career at OSU Extension in 1993 working with the IPM Program in the area of field crops. In 1999, his focus was shifted to vegetable crop IPM, particularly sweet corn, peppers, tomato, and cucurbits. Setting up networks to monitor traditional and exotic pests (SWD, BMSB, etc.) and urban agriculture have been recent focuses of his work.
From 2005-2008, he was the co-director of the Great Lakes Vegetable Working Group and the director from 2009-2012. Since 1999, he has been PI or co-PI on grants totaling over two million dollars.
His educational background includes a B.S. in biology from Western Michigan University in 1990 and a M.S. in entomology from Michigan State University in 1993.
